My daughter Cailley was diagnosed with Absence Seizures (Petit Mal Seizures) this week. This explains the blank stares and unresponsive behavior we have been observing on a daily basis. To learn more about this, follow the link below:

Both Cheri(my wife) and I love the last line of this document.
The prognosis is very good. Most children with absence epilepsy eventually outgrow the condition without complications. With proper treatment, the child can have a normal life at school and at home. In most cases, there is no long-term effect on brain development, brain function or intelligence.

I tend to find myself against developing land to build bigger and better things simply because I tend to question motives or mourn the loss of what was once and never more shall be (example: my house sits on what was in the 50's a cherry orchard). However every once in a while I run across a development which was carefully and prayerfully approached to celebrate both the past and the future. The picture above is located on Mt. Herman Conference Center located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The specific building is the McAfee Field house. The building was designed to augment the existing redwood trees and to reflect the standards of the great buildings in our national parks. After recieving a private tour with the kids, I left enthusiastic about spending time with my kids using the facilities over the coming years and enjoying the beauty of the Santa Cruz mountains even more.

I read 1/2 of Scott Adams free book "God's Debris yesterday.
It started off really good but quickly became just another book by a guy who has an interesting thought about God. I could never get past the fact that I was reading a book by the same guy who writes Dilbert and owns restaurants for a living. Others have gone from being authors to talking about theology/religion including the great C. S. Lewis, however most of these guys had advanced degrees in either classical literature or history. I would be interested to hear what others thought about Scott's book and the fact that he is attempting to cross over into a very difficult genre.

Having started an LJ account about 4 months ago, I have yet to really spend the time to understand how it works. Well today I am starting that journey..
